Renae and Nolan had an intimate wedding in Canmore at Rundleview Parkette, then rode a helicopter to a mountain top and exchanged vows. Here are some love notes from the lovebirds.

How did you two meet and know you were each other’s forevers?

The two of us met how so many people do, on tinder! After a few dates, it was clear that we would not be turning back. We were fully committed to each other. We have always been so comfortable with each other, having fun and laughing every day. The day we said I love you, I was trying to work up the courage, and Nolan beat me to it. It was clear that we had always been on the same page and were choosing to move through life as a pair. 

Nolan proposed on our anniversary with Hayley behind the camera. It was such a surprise and absolutely a dream come true. There was never any hesitation or questioning our commitment to each other- we both knew from the beginning, and still, that we are meant to be. 

How did your wedding represent you two? How did you know you wanted an intimate wedding?

Knowing we didn’t want a long engagement, and being too excited to wait, we set a wedding date for 9 months out. We are very relaxed, laid back, and live a quiet life. Our love for each other is down to earth and shown through small gestures every day. We’re not “grand-gesture” people, so an intimate wedding felt like the perfect fit. It allowed for our closest family to be present, while giving us time alone on the day of our wedding to truly be present and enjoy each other. Having private vows was perfectly intimate and allowed us to be completely comfortable. We incorporated our passion for adventure with a helicopter ride, which we only had time for due to our intimate wedding. We are both so thankful that we had a small wedding. It was the perfect day!
