This Waterton Lakes intimate wedding had me SWOONING from the minute I arrived at the couples AirBnb! Sydny and Brady had their wedding all planned out, with a side of winging it! I had never been to Waterton National Park before this elopement. I have always heard raves about it. The Alberta prairies meet mountain terrain. One way you look it’s a never ending mountain range, the other way it’s classic Alberta prairies with rolling hills. Waterton Lakes made the perfect backdrop for their intimate wedding. Read below to see what they loved most about their day!

From the couple about their intimate wedding day

I asked Sydny and Brady a few questions about their day. This is what they said!

What did you love most about your wedding location in Waterton Lakes?

We love the mountains! It might sound cheesy, but it feels like a safe haven to us. We feel really good when we’re there! We went to the mountains all the time when we first started dating. Being anywhere near the mountains feels so nostalgic to us! About a year prior to our wedding, we took a road trip to Waterton Lakes and fell in-love with the town and area. Waterton has the mountain town feel without it being crazy busy. We had a nice quiet ceremony, with beautiful scenery surrounding us!

Was eloping or having an intimate wedding in Waterton Lakes an easy decision for you two?

It was a super simple decision! It was nice just having just our immediate family there. We could enjoy each other and the day without having to worry about extra stress. As fun as our wedding reception that we had at a later date, we would have been perfectly fine with just having our intimate wedding. Fewer people means less complications!

What advice would you give to future couples getting married?

The only opinions that matter are you and your partners! If you want to have an elopement with just you and your partner, do it. If you want to have a large wedding, do it. Don’t let anyone else’s opinion or advice take you away from what you and your partner want for your wedding day. Listen to each other, love each other, and your day will be perfect! PS, Brides! Get boudoir pictures taken in the morning before your ceremony!
